The "Innovator's" series has proved a wonderful addition to the business literature. By focusing on step changes the series has caused many of us to rethink how best to make process changes in business. The Innovator's Method is by far the most practical of the entire set. It assumes that the reader understands the nature of disruptive change and wants more guidance on how to make it happen. The authors do not disappoint. Using case studies from Intuit and others, they outline the steps involved in creating disruptive change successfully. They especially emphasize the role of prototyping as the mechanism to insure that the idea in its formative stage will actually work.This book would have received five stars. However, it contains almost no information on the human aspect of creating these changes within an organization. Maybe that's next in line.

This book is a fantastic addition to any Lean Startup library. What I like about the book is that it brings concrete and clear guidelines to execute innovation inside your organization. Also it blends Design Thinking, Jobs to be Done and Lean startup tips and tricks. It's really an end to end process for creating, refining and bringing great ideas to market.The book uses the most important literature about Innovation, Jobs to be done, Design Thinking, Business Model generation and Lean Startup. It is also based on lots of personal interviews with entrepreneurs and teams executing innovative projects inside organizations. Intuit and Unilever are both examples of orgs used as examples. Great read and very practical guide!

So I have never really been really involved with innovation or even business and entrepreneurship for that matter. I first began reading and thinking about it when I started talking to my cousin about it. He talked to me about innovation and the role that he thought it should play in businesses. And to be honest. It seemed like an obvious idea. Of course being innovative was important. But then when I thought about it more, I had no idea how to be innovative. I had no idea how to change the way I thought and expand on the ideas that were in my mind. I knew what needed to be done, but no idea how to do it. And even more so, no idea how to apply that to any type of organization. And that is where this book came in for me.The Innovator's Method builds upon the ideas presented in the Innovators DNA and expands those into a useful tool kit, a step by step process if you will on how to add innovation to your own organization. Innovators DNA told you that everyone can be innovative and even told you how to get to that point. Then Innovator's Method follows it up with telling you exactly how to apply those new skills of innovation to your own organization or business. It presented many of the ideas in a clear way, so that someone with little business experience (like my self) could still understand the topics and grasp the ideas with a little bit of thinking.

The authors have created a unified approach to bringing innovation to market. They integrate several of the leading techniques such as design thinking and lean startups into a very practical methodology. It is written in a style that will be accessible to a broad audience of colleagues interested in how to tackle the launch of new business ventures, lines of service, and products. I highly recommend this book to managers who want to bring structure to an inherently messy, uncertain, and iterative process.

Very useful, especially for small business that needs to grow.A must read even for an experienced manager, there are lots of gems inside this book!

I enjoyed the real life examples that were discussed in the book.

As others have stated, it's a great book about managing innovation. Not only that it's comprehensive and it offers a structured approach to deal with the uncertainties of innovation, but also easy to read and gives lots of good examples that really solidify the concepts. I also like how it refers to other well-written books as well, including The Lean Startup, and how the materials here complement those books.

This is THE book if you want to start up your innovation team in your company.

There are lots of five star reviews for Wild Fermentation already, but one more can't hurt, right? Katz provides many detailed recipes in this book for ferments of several varieties, which makes it a great starter book to read before stepping up to The Art of Fermentation.Wild Fermentation has two features that stand out to me as especially valuable:First, I did enjoy Katz's philosophical musings in regard to food, politics, death, and human existence in general. Although he is definitely thinking and writing from a very particular perspective, his tone is conciliatory and he remains focused on the potential of food as a unifying social force rather than going off on a tangent of blaming or demonizing folks with different experiences and/or perspectives. I think this demonstrates a degree of good will and rhetorical restraint that is badly needed in our increasingly polarized culture.Second, the suggested reading sections at the end of each chapter are extremely helpful. These have led me to a wealth of knowledge in the particular genres of fermentation that I became interested while reading this book. With such a dizzying number of books available on every type of fermentation, these suggestions have helped to pinpoint which ones are especially worth checking out.

This is a great book for anyone interested in fermenting...anything. I have Katz's "Art of Fermentation", and have found it a great resource, but it is a lot to digest (pun intended). The methods of fermentation are also buried in the prose, and sometimes the instructions in that book were a bit less precise. This new book is basically the condensed version of The Art. It is set up in a more "recipe" format, so the ingredients needed, the time it will take, and the steps to complete it are laid out clearly. There is still plenty of information and opinion about fermenting, but getting to the how-to's is very easy. Love it! If you're looking for one book to thoroughly cover virtually all aspects of fermenting, this is it.

Everything I need to know to get started fermenting my own foods is in here. I have made the fermented buckwheat bread multiple times since getting this book a few weeks ago and I will never stop! It is sooo good and super easy only 3 ingredients: buckwheat, salt and water.

This guy is all about fermenting food. He's taken it to a spirtual, culturally revolutionary level of being into fermenting things. You don't have to get that deep, just make some sauerkraut, but appreciate this man's strange and unrelenting passion for fermented food. Great read!

I have the old version of this book and I love it so much that when I found out there was a new version, I knew I had to get it. This version does not disappoint. It has beautiful pictures and new recipes in it. If you love the old version, I believe you will love this one too. I credit Sandor Katz with helping me overcome my intimidation about fermenting and inspiring me in so many ways. I love the way he writes. I love his recipes. I love his books.

If you're looking for a simple beginner's guide this is fine. I was disappointed, however, after pouring through the comprehensive, in-depth treatise "The Art of Fermentation" by the same author (which is superb and won the James Beard Foundation Award.) "Wild Fermentation" is a simpler precursor with much of the same information but a narrower focus. It does, however, have some step-by-step basic recipes that "The Art of Fermentation" doesn't have. For those who want an introduction into the subject with some basic recipes, this is fine. I'm still looking for a book with a greater range of recipes and variations on sauerkraut, kimchi, fermented fruits vegetables and tsukemono.

This book is great! I have become rather fascinated with the Nuka pickles alone. And the ginger bug. And everything else in this book! Every day I try something new out of this book! All recipes are easy enough as long as you follow Sandor's instructions. Through practice and with this books guidance you can expand and explore. This book is the first step towards a much healthier lifestyle for you and any friends and family that are willing to try rediscovered techniques of healthy food processing. Which (obviously) fermentation is the oldest form of. I recommend this book for everyone who has a kitchen.This is an independent review. Out dated but it tells you where to look for the regs you need to know. and those are always up to date.

it is very good for designer inspection and Maintenance Technician but It doesn't have calculator method of circulation ratio which I need it.

very well organized and well thought out, I use this reference every time we have a pressure vessel project, excellent charts and references regarding power boilers.

I've had this book for two or three years and refer to it occasionally. I usually find what I want. I have some gripes about the way it is written: it is repetitive, mentioning one thing on one page and then again shortly afterwards; it has some totally pointless illustrations (e.g. of three flash-lights, or a line drawing showing "an operator explains starting a boiler to an AI". Also, the section that I am reading today conflates the activities performed in an internal inspection, with what is done in an external inspection. Nevertheless, it is a useful reference book which needed to be checked and edited before it was published.

This text is an excellent overview of the ASME requirements for boiler design and fabrication. There is detailed information on the welding requirements non destructive test requirements and details on the tests themselves. It is useful for a quick but complete introduction to the detailed and dense field of engineering.

"Power Boiler Design, Inspection, and Repair" is a book that fulfills what it is considered to do. General information about boiler design (don't exceed the ASME Code, could be better) and some inspections tricks.It's a great book. Easy to consult.

This is a very short book for the price. It only has 8 pages (not counting sticker pages) I was disappointed. The stickers are small--that's how they all fit on 8 pages. I deliberately looked for DK sticker books because their books are usually excellent quality.

Great book with examples of positions and pictures of male and female dancers. Great for young ballerina.

My granddaughters love this DK sticker book about ballet. It would be great if there was one devoted to the story of the Nutcracker Ballet.

My six year old daughter had many questions about ballet. I bought her this sticker book, and she loved it! She took it with us on a road trip, and it kept her occupied for much of the ride. She also couldn't wait to show her grandmother her book, since they both loved to talk about ballet together.

Bought this for our 9 year old daughter. A very beautiful and educational sticker book about ballet. The stickers show the positions of ballet, the costumes, and the names of famous ballets are shown near the stickers, too. Highly recommend for the young ballerina!

This was the second of Burton's books I've read, Women of the Bible: Jael's Story: A Novel having been the first. I expressed my reservations about Burton as a biblical fiction author in that review as well.Let me start though by saying that if I was reading this book from purely a fictional standpoint it would easy receive 5 stars. It had me thoroughly engaged - I could hardly put it down! There is no doubt Burton is a gifted writer as she weaves a marvelous tale with a touching lovestory and heartwarming friendships, bad guys you love to hate, redemption and forgiveness that moves you, and heroism that inspires. Where I begin to struggle is with Burton's apparent lack of respect for the divinely inspired Word of God.Just as I felt with Jael's Story, at best Burton takes liberties - at worst she's intentionally misleading some who may not take the time to read scriptures to know any better. Deborah is a character in Jael's Story and one of the reasons I read this book next was to hear the other side of the scene I'd already read from Jael's perspective. Imagine my surprise when that section was completely glossed over and hardly touched - especially since that is the portion we have the most detail on in scripture!Other portions of scripture were barely touched and in some cases the way they were addressed felt not to align with how scripture addressed them.My other concern was the way Deborah's prophetic gifting was portrayed. Having been part of the charismatic movement for the better part of a decade and heading a prophetic ministry for five and a half years, the way she describes Deborah's gift looked nothing like how I've seen prophetic giftings flow. And even if you believe in the cessation of the gifts, it doesn't look like old testament prophecy either. It had more of a psychic flavor than prophetic to me... though I acknowledge God was given credit consistently so I was able to suspend my disbelief and enjoy the story she was telling nonetheless.With my concerns so specifically noted you may be wondering why I gave it 4 stars. The concerns noted were only a portion of the biblical/spiritual aspects and the other portions were as pleasing as the fictional story itself. So if I were judging solely from this perspective I'd give it a 3 star and when averaged with the 5 star I'd give it as a work of fiction I determined 4 star was fair.At the end of the day, I'm sure I'll read it again. My hope is that Burton begins to allow her incredible talents for storytelling to fully align with the scriptures she professes to be writing about (or that she simply writes Christian fiction). I would love to read more of her work, but based on the reviews I've read on the other books in this series it seems certain they will be equally if not more frustrating from a biblical perspective as Deborah and Jael were.

Deborah sleeps in the dirt, she is a slave, she is starvedand she is beaten almost every day of her life. Her onlyfamily is the others salves she lives with. In spite ofall this she is kind and sweet. She truly loves the animalsthat she is made to take care of and she loves her slavefriends.Deborah is a seer although she does not understand her giftshe is not afraid of it. She will meet Lappidoth and he willtake her away from that horrible place that is her home.In her visions GOD will tell her that she must find Barakand lead an army against the Jew haters. The Jews are notone to believe that a WOMAN should be telling them anything.Especially about going to WAR.Deborah will become THE MOTHER OF ISRAEL. She is one ofthe greatest women in the Bible. I really liked her.Suggestion: I would like for you to read THE TRIUMPHOF DEBORAH--- by Halevy..this is the same woman buta completely different life.

I read this book on a recommendation of a friend. Since I don't usually read Christian books, I was very surprised to find how wonderful this book is. First of all, it is very evident that Ann Burton has done a lot research in order to make her books authentic. She weaves her descriptions of the geography, food, family culture and religious beliefs, seamlessly into the plot of her story and the descriptions are never intrusive. On the contrary they add richness and depth to the narrative voice. Deborah's story is both facinating and compelling. Her growth as a seer and a prophet (during a time when women were not accepted in this role), as well as her reluctance to be one, makes a wonderful story. Deborah gains wisdom, courage, and love in this wonderful book. I highly recommend it and I plan to read all the other Ann Burton Women of the Bible series.

People who criticize the author for deviating from scripture annoy me. This is FICTION. If you want to read the Bible, just read the Bible. THAT will be 100% accurate. This is a novel, you know, a work of art where someone uses his or her IMAGINATION to write STORY. It's not meant to replace the Bible, but only to spark the reader's imagination... Chillax, people. It's a great book. I love Biblical fiction. And for the record, I thought it was pretty accurate to the story of Deborah in the book of Judges.

As with the entire series. I truly loved each book. I loved the stories of the Heroic JEWISH women of the bible. Although they are not true to the bible and some characters are fictional, they do add light to those who know the bible. It makes reading the bible all the more enjoyable because you can view the bible and see what was different and have a mental picture of the characters. Maybe even after reading the bible see the character for their true selves, not what the author wanted to add to his or her story. But couldn't you have at least had a picture of a Jewish woman on the front of the books like the other I have read on women in the bible. The picture almost made me put the book back because I thought it couldn't be about what I was looking for. Please consider that, because I do love your books, but the picture on the front is deceptive.

I am a helpless romantic and I could not put the book down. It made me laugh, made me cry and I literally read it in 2 days. Loved it!!! Hoping to find the movie. I am amazed of how God is always the same. I enjoy reading books that take me back to the times when there was pure closeness with him, no interruptions, no technology, just humans, nature and God. God is the same yesterday, today and days to come. I could related so much with this book because I always wait to hear his voice in my dreams. Hope you enjoy it as well.

I was really intruiged with this book.It had a slow start but then it began to get soo good! It may not be as accurate as the word of God but I love the charcter of Deborah and the author seems to be writing it as if..maybe this did happen behind the scenes.It's a good read! I also love the cover of the book!

Zena Halpern earned her Master’s Degree in History from New York University. This would make a great movie script. For greater credibility, I wish there were citations and documentation for the artifacts Zena writes about. She uses the word "speculates" and tells the reader that she will get back to "that" later or in another volume. Part One was all over the place and difficult to read. Part Two pulled some of the ideas and process together and presented new possibilities, but, a historic time line seems impossible to imagine the way this book is written. The potential for a really great book for Oak Island readers may be in the works, but, right now, I find too many of her variables lack of documentation by qualified archeologist and/or museums. Continuity for some of the research she has been working on for a decade with Mr. Ruh, might of been better if some historic connections were made by third party (editor) and museum qualified expert evaluate the artifacts, other than Scott Wolter's company who made a general time estimate for a stone. Certainly, if Zena Halpren had clarified the time sequence of events between the Templars, the Oak Island location and earlier explorers, the book would of been better in my opinion.

Zena Halpern meticulously documents a compelling series of events which lead the reader from recent history's eye opening finds, thru a labyrinth of secret society's into the distant past of Templars and treasure. This is a journey as fantastical to the author as it unraveled as it is for the reader. The Oak Island connection was simply another revelation in her exhaustive research. Though admittedly the first chapters can feel a bit slow, I urge you to stick with it, it is a necessary lead and you wont regret it, you wont put the second half down! This book not only reveals the very real possibility of hidden treasures, but offers much more, as it illuminates the dark shadows of our previously written history. Seems many wish it to remain in the shadows...I am deeply saddened by Zena Halperns passing. I was anticipating more revelations via her intensive research. Who has the resources to pick up and run with the torch she started?Also in response to the reviewer 'An Academic Critique,' Zena sent an extensive reply, please see: Zenahalpern.info and go into blog. Her research is far more proficient then credit given, she was able to correct your conclusions with documented evidence, each one.

Ten years of dedicated research takes you on a journey from prison in England to famed Oak Island and beyond, to Hunter Mountain. A different temple awaits you there, one you won't read about in the history books. At least not yet. Halpern guides the reader on true Templar riddles, wrapped in mysteries, surrounded by enigmas. She researches the researcher who researched the history of the searcher. Curiosity is the name of the game from beginning to end as the researchers quote from one thousand year old dialogue and discovery. It's torture all the way and you are there with them all , loving it every minute of each step taken. A Knights Templar on a commanded mission, a young Ponce De Leon, and a priestess of the Goddess who shows them the way. It is a trio worthy of a best selling fiction novel. But make no mistake. Ms. Halpern is not peddling fiction in her years spent solving some mysteries in this manuscript discovery, and creating other riddles, mysteries, and enigmas for herself and every arm chair adventurer who sails with this experienced historical detective. Five stars for her efforts. I only put this down when I had to. If you are a fan of the Oak Island saga read the history behind the treasures that may exist in the area.

Expected a logical and reasonable telling of the subject matter - did not happen. Poorly presented and written. After completion, I felt that the book content was to far fetched and bogus.

Very good book! Well researched. The information in this book explains why people in the North Eastern United States have found bones with copper breastplates. It explains a lot of finds that have been made that the establishment archeologists will not even consider when they make their silly theories about our history. This book is so spell binding that it is hard to put down. I love it and recommend it to anyone who is interested in Oak Island or the prehistory of our nation.

This book is excellent, I have read many books on Knights Templar and Oak Island. The research and background work is excellent. I have read extensively which helps in understanding this subject. I suggest you all do the same..

The threads that were followed were fascinating. Although as expected with 700 year old mysteries very few of these threads can be fully explored or explained. But the the facts presented seem plausible with verification as available. I am looking forward to Volume II.

Very interesting research that ties together a lot of thousand-years oldmysteries. Some speculation between pieces of evidence, but a logicalprogression, and it certainly could have happened. Europeans in Americawell before Columbus. Political/Religious intrigue. Good read.

(Who can ask a writer for more than that?) Light Filters In is wholly original. I suspect many, many young people have found and will find comfort and companionship in these poems. The imagery and language, the movement and beauty, and the emotions so elegantly conveyed herein moved me to compassion.I will keep this one handy on my Kindle, so that I can return to it again and again.

an incredibly unique collection of poems that any reader can relate. the book delivers powerful messages about self-love and acceptance, equality, and the journey of life. it has a thoughtful and creative structure that tells a story as the reader progresses through the book.

I found the story within these poems captivating, reminiscent of many teenage girl's struggles with identity, self love, and facing inner and outer demons. The author's voice is well beyond her years as she articulates dark subject matter very well! Perhaps my favorite poem in this collection is the one with the analogy of yarn and pink and blue, so powerful and cleverly written!

This collection was everything I wanted it to be and more. I was able to resonate with so many of the poems, and they took me from fond memories to heart-wrenching pain. I can’t wait to read more of Caroline’s work.
